When I retire from the military, I want to become a programmer or hardware developer. But with videogames having a younger target audience, I'm afraid 39 is too old. Any opinions?
Is 39 too old to start a career in the videogame industry?
For programming 39 is not too old. While the industry is aimed at 18-35 yo, the developers are mostely in there 30's and 40's. Most of the young people are testers, level designers, artists, and animators. The producers, designers and programmers are usually in their early 30,s or 40,s. The biggest thing is experience. If you eat breath and think programming you should have no problem. Keep in mind that the people in video game creation are video game building junkies. They live it, which means lots of 12 hour 7 days.
Reply:No, of course not. Just because it's targeted at a younger audience, it doesn't mean that the people behind it have to be young. They want bold, new ideas, and if you have lots to contribute and can think on your feet, you should go for it. If you think like a kid to make something for a kid, then a kid will buy it, get it?
Reply:just think you could live to 80 or 90 maybe even 100 years old now do you think u are to old?? hope this helps and be leave me your never to old for anything!!!
Reply:no at all .i say that old people are smart
Reply:You're never too old for videogames. Think about all the people behind Nintendo, etc. With your creative mind, you can help make some great games. I hope you find a job you are happy with!
Reply:You'll never be too old, age is only a number, but what you feel is what becomes you. As long as you feel your young enough, and have an imaginaition that can explore many different areas of ideas, then you are never too old for it...
I have to believe that... as that is also my dream of what i'd love to get into.
Reply:no, doesn't sound old to me
Reply:this is going to sound TACKY as HECK! but NO its never to late to start something you love. now-a-days the industry of video gaming is expanding rapidly. google CDI College or Career in Video Gaming. class are enjoyable for sure. and if its something you love, go for it man! best of luckk!
Reply:39 is not old. As long as your heart beats, no age is too old to do what your heart desires

What's Your Favorite Disney Movie Of All Time?
Since the beginning of time, Disney been making movies for all ages that main purpose is to entertain and teach lessons to young and old audiences. In your opinion what's your favorite so far. It can be an old movie or a barley new movie. Please star my question...
Thank you for your responses.
What's Your Favorite Disney Movie Of All Time?
Aladdin. Because I love the theme (at least my take on the theme of the movie..I am sure others think it has a different theme) to "Beee Yourself!" As Genie says in the movie. So many people are not themselves around the various groups of people they hang out with in real life. I try to always Beee Myself!!!! I also really like the fact that Aladdin stuck to his word and set Genie free as his last wish. It will probably always be my most favorite Disney movie.
Reply:Thanks for the Best Answer pick! I was very glad to answer this question and share my feelings on Aladdin!! It has and always will hold a special place in my heart!!! :-) Report It
Reply:My favorite kiddie movie of all times is Finding Nemo. I don't think it's Disney, but it's my favorite. I could watch it a hundred times.
Reply:My favorite Disney movie since I was a little kid was Aladdin. I liked it because Aladdin was always out on adventures. That's pretty exciting! And Jasmine is very beautiful!
Reply:PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN-because jack is like alot of us.were just trying to find our calling.our place in life.sometimes we just go with the wind see where it takes us.
Reply:The Lion King because it was a good movie. Good in the sense that it was well made. It entertains people of all ages. Original score is groundbreaking. I still sing the songs to this day. Highlights friendship, love, family, and duty. The beginning number alone makes you tingly all over. BY the end of the movie, you want to be a lion. That's what I call movie magic; better yet- Disney magic.
Reply:I like Peter Pan because it reminds me of my husband who won't grow up.
Reply:Jungle Book for an oldie....Toy Story for the newer movies
Reply:Beauty and the Beast - good story
Reply:Alice and wonderland
Reply:Hands down it's got to be "The Nightmare Before Christmas"! The music, the story, the effects... by far THEE BEST! ...although there is an unbelievably beautiful scene in "Beauty and the Beast" when they're in the ballroom and the "camera" pans down from the ceiling through the chandelier, WOW it's amazing!
Reply:The Little mermaid.
Ariel touched me like no other movie character has (live or animated) and changed how I deal with people
Reply:It's a tie between The Lion King and Toy Story.
Reply:the lion king....
first movie i saw in theatre
last really good animated movie before pixar took over
the music is so bold and strong that you can feel in insid of you
the movie itself ans the meaning of it ans what it represents is incredible
Reply:mulan because it deviates from the usual fairytale stories of a princess or lady in distress waiting for her prince or knight in shining armor to rescue her from the villain (the villain being her stepmother, a witch etc)...
also, i can relate to mulan because like her, i am independent and strong-willed and i love my family so much that i will do everything and anything for them.
Reply:i like princess diaries... i like it because i identified myself with that movie.
Reply:Hercules.
It had lots of humorous scenes like with Pain %26amp; Panic
or Phil scenes.
I espeically cracked up when Hercules wore the Lion's body (Scar) on his head. And then the artist scribbled madly on the urn he was painting Hercules on.
Reply:My favorites are Pollyanna with Hayley Mills, just because it's so sweet and innocent.
The second is Song of the South. For the songs, and I looooved Uncle Remus. I wanted him to tell me Brer Rabbit stories!!
The third would be The Incredible Journey..the OLDEST version.
I just love older movies.

Reply:The Little Mermaid
Reply:Hercules. I really like how they portrayed Hades.
Reply:My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I love it because it has sooo many memories of this way awesome trip I went on with some of my way great friends!!!!!!!!
Reply:Beauty and the Beast... cuz it shows that love is blind... she didn't judge him on his looks, she fell in love with him over his actions and personality! thats the way all love should be... but unfortunatly it isn't.. maybe more people should watch that movie!
Reply:Sleeping beauty
Reply:Aladdin..
Reply:Mary Poppins
Because her "little spoon of sugar" is pure magic.
I love that movie. My father enjoys with the movie too.
Reply:The Lion King. I have never cried so much at a movie as I did at that one (true story). But it's an amazing movie, one of the last great animated Disney films before the animation all went to crap and the musical aspect of them became a thing of the past.
Reply:My all time favorite Disney movies are Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin! So you can tell which are my favorites! ;)
My number 1 Disney Princess is Princesses Aurora! I like her a lot because she's more fair, elegant, and classy, and she has a pretty voice.
So you can tell who's my number one Prince and Villian: Prince Phillip and Maleficent!
I like Prince Philip because he's your classic Prince who's bethrotherd to Aurora, and has to slay Maleficent to wake his sleeping beauty!
I love Maleficent so much because she's got that evil thing down pat! She classy, and collective before she unleashes her wrath and frustration.
My number 1 Disney Princess is Princess Jasmine! like her a lot because she's very beautiful, elegant, and has that tomboy attitude; plus she's totally head over heals over Aladdin! :D
Pushing Prince Philip from his top spot, I'd hae to say Aladdin is my number 1 favorite prince. He's a classic Disney character that everyone loves. He's got that street-rat persona down; and is friends with Abu, Carpet, and Genie! :D
Now Jafar is my second favorite villian! He's got that twisted mind and attitude down so well. He's also a whole lot more eviler than Maleficent; I guess because he's just so more fun to watch!
Reply:I guess I am a bit older than anyone here but I think the greatest one that teaches lessons is "Song of the South". Zippy Do Da. Brier Rabbit, Brier Bear, Brier Fox and Uncle Ramos. Of course the brier patch and the tar baby. Great film.
Reply:Alice in Wonderland! It is by far one of the best movies ever done! It make childeren use there imaginations! It is full of adventure! Tons of excitement, with scary, funny, and crazy parts all in one! This is still my favorite movie at the age of 19!

How does this paper sound to you?
Why Romeo and Juliet Had to Die
In our world today people often cringe at the thought of “true love” in young adults. In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare shows the audience that young love is often misunderstood and highly dangerous. For Romeo and Juliet, their young love brings a tragedy that is the result of both the miscommunication between all of the characters, and the speed of the play. The death of Romeo and Juliet, as a result of their young love, makes the audience question the true love of young adults.
When Romeo and Juliet’s young love, and fatal deaths, are questioned towards the end of the play, the adults start to realize the miscommunication between themselves and Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence notices his miscommunication towards Romeo when he retells the story of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths: “Meantime I writ to Romeo…but he which bore my letter, Friar John,\ Was stayed by accident, and…returned my letter back” (5.3.255-261). There was also a miscommunication between Friar Lawrence and Juliet, when he did not tell Juliet exactly how long the fake death potion would last: “Thou shalt continue two and forty hours\ And then awake” (4.1.107-108). As a result this made Juliet wonder if she would “wake before the time that Romeo\ Come[s] to redeem” her (4.3.32-33). There is a large amount of miscommunication between Juliet and her parents in many subjects, including her love for Romeo. Her own mother has no idea that Juliet is even married, let alone having her husband stay the night, when she thinks that her daughter is still “weeping for [her] cousin’s death” (3.5.71). There is also some miscommunication between Juliet and her father when it comes down to why she cannot marry Paris. Juliet secretly tells her father about Romeo when she says, “proud can I never be of what I hate,\ But thankful…for hate that is meant love” (3.5.152-153), but Capulet is too angry to notice her hints. The miscommunication of Romeo and Juliet’s young love was present throughout the play, creating tension in the audience, but this miscommunication was left unrecognized until it was questioned by the adults towards the end of the play.
For Romeo and Juliet, their young love is questioned because of the miscommunication between themselves and the adults in their lives, but another dangerous factor of their love is how quickly it moves and changes. The quickness of the play starts off right away when Romeo sees Juliet. When he first sees her he forgets all about his love for Rosaline and thinks that he “ne’er saw true beauty till [that] night” (1.5.60). Friar Lawrence notices Romeo’s sudden change in love when he states that “young men’s love…lies\ Not…in their hearts, but in their eyes” (2.3.71-72). By saying that Romeo and Juliet’s love is only skin deep, the Friar is backing up what the Chorus said earlier in the play: “Now Romeo…loves again,\ Alike bewitchéd by the charm of looks” (2.Chorus.5-6). Juliet realizes that what she and Romeo are doing “is too rash, too unadvised, [and] too sudden” (2.2.125), but she throws out that thought when she starts to talk about marriage: “Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow” (2.2.151). All of this rushing left both Romeo and Juliet no time to stop and think. For Juliet, her single moments of logic: “What if it be poison which the Friar\ Subtly hath ministered to have me dead” (4.3.25-26), are overwhelmed by both her love for Romeo and her other emotions: “Romeo, Romeo, Romeo…I drink to thee” (4.3.59-60). The many changes in Romeo and Juliet’s young love are a result of the speed of the play, furthering the idea that true love in young adults can be dangerous, and at times fatal.
In Romeo and Juliet, the audience is shown that the combination of miscommunication between others, fast paced love, and other important factors can be very dangerous. If all of these are combined together with a number of bad relationships, such as some in this play, the innocent, but true love of young adults can be fatally ruined.

If George Sr. could take the Prez on his knee, what should he say about making a better world impression?
Article excerpt:
"'We do not respect your son. We do not respect what he's doing all over the world,' a woman audience member bluntly told Bush Sr. after his keynote speech.
Bush appeared stunned as the audience of young business leaders whooped and whistled in approval.
Although former leader, who served as president from 1989-1993, claimed to have faced tougher audiences, he conceded that attacks on his sons hurt more than those on him. As curiosity mounts regarding the advice James Baker, the senior Bush's secretary of state, is giving Washington on the war in the Iraq, the former president declined to reveal how he had counseled his son on the conflict."

Good for her. I'm glad she was honest. It seems in this world today we can't be honest for fear of hurting someone's feelings. Oh well. He should have expected a comment like that and known the reality of his sons actions instead walking in there with blind pride for him. He should have disciplined his child rather than enabling and coddling him. GWB is a giant baby. And the way he leads this country shows it.
Reply:He would tell him to keep doing what he has always tried to do. What makes you think the father would traitor the son? Who needs people like that woman in the audience to speak for us? I don't.
Reply:Wow that is a tough question, because I believe Jnr is beyond redemption. The only advice he could give the boy that may be effective is to beg the world forgiveness and offer an apology. Not sure how that will go down with the Mothers of 655000 dead Iraqis. His only savior at this point is the big guy in the sky and his son....JC. Nothing Pappa Bush can do for sonnyboy anymore, he has bancrupted Pappa's "save son" account!!! Used it all up!
Reply:He would say: "Whatever you do - don't hurl on the Japanese ambassador."
All kidding aside, of course it hurts more when someone attacks your kids. I would think that he would just tell GWB to get the best possible infomation from his advisors, and always act in the best interests of the people.

"Now that George Bush has been in power, he changed the strategy and became open about aggression. He used 9/11 to openly attack 2 nations-- one that probably was not involved in 9/11 and another everyone knows for sure was not involved.
Afghanistan for years could not be utilized by Bush's oil companies to build a pipeline to the other "stan" countries that were oil rich-- because of an international embargo against the Taliban leaders after the war that USSR lost. (The US had given the Taliban the weapons)
Iraq was drenched in oil but also had an international embargo placed against it by George Bush's father. So the Bush cabal decided that the only way to get around it was to commit wars and place in 2 new governments to be able to say -- Hey, Lookie, there's no need for embargos anymore!
The whole thing was a Stupid Ruse against the world and so it didn't work. The world was wise to it and turned its back on the US and a kind of "policy of containment" began to work AGAINST the US as the world found other ways to operate without the US. The US was spending too much money on the military, weapons, war and killing, and became for the first time, a Hated US government,. not much different from Israel.
Also, hundreds of thousands of people in those two countries died, including the poor US soldiers, many of whom joined because they had no other options in America. The curious part there is the US government didn't seem to care.
Now the NEW US government will reconsider all of these faulty decisions and to get the country out of these problems, the Senators and leaders need to hear from people like you-- no matter your age-- who are asking questions. This is a new "Consensus" government that wants to include the People. Get involved by writing and going to your town meetings."
HEY OOOO for after this analysis I've got some Questions
If the US hadn't had a cold war Strategy things would have been better?
Is it not necessary to wake up to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and have a policy to deal with it?
The problems weren't just invented by the Bushs the **** is out there?
Power has responsibility and accountability.
We agree on one thing get it out in the open, I think it clarifies
the methods and goals.

Smile not rile.
Ps I need points to ask questions so this must be worth a best answer.....

Is Yahoo Communities Going Downhill?
I remember 5 or 6 years ago, Yahoo seemed really easy to navigate as far as groups, (which used to be clubs) the Yahoo Messenger, discussion boards, Yahoo games, etc. Does anybody else feel the Yahoo is becoming cluttered and confusing or do you feel the opposite, that these changes are a good thing and don't just appeal to a *very* young teenage audience? (Like Yahoo Answers IMHO)
Is Yahoo Communities Going Downhill?
LOL
The communities have never been uphill.
