Do you think most kids won't watch the new Indiana Jones movie since the last one was made in 1989? Explain.

In other words, most of them weren't even born when the Last Crusade on was released so it may be tough to get that young audience $$$ since they may have no idea who Indy is.

maybe if they played a video game that ripped off Indiana Jones [tomb raider] they might want to watch it. just to see what came before the game. most of the new audience that saw the last 3 star wars movies were not born and some of their parents either before the first one came out over 30 years ago.
Reply:I think you may be onto something - when the younger generation hears Indiana Jones - they seem to think of a western cowboy/John Wayne type movie.

I still think this movie will do really well because the real money is in the middle aged people that love Indiana.
Reply:yeah, everybody who saw and loved the movie as a kid who are adults now will go and take their kids even though they won't know anything about it. or they've already hipped their kids to Indy thanks to the wonders of DVD, like so many others independently did after hearing about the films. they're going to make a killing on this flick. look at Transformers...
Reply:You have a point. I watched it when I was 6 (I'm 11), and then I immedintly loved the movies. I brought the VHS box set and now I can not wait for the new Indiana Jones! I think a lot of kids seen it, since so many parents saw it, they show it to their kids, and 99.9% of the kids will love it!
Reply:I would agree with you. Most kids I know don't know who Indy is but they know who Lara Croft is.
Reply:No way. This movie will be a huge hit and all ages of people will flock to see it. First, it opens May 22 which is the ideal movie release date for the studios (usually right up through fourth of July weekend is when the studios release the pictures they believe will be their big blockbusters). This series has such a massive following anyone who has had kids since the 80's has probably had this is their collection for years. It has also been on cable enough times to rival "It's A Wonderful Life". Their kids grew up with Indy as much as they did.
