What is this movie i have nightmares about? i saw it when i was young and i still get noghtmares. plz help?

i will describe to as much detail everything i remember of it. i dont know the actors (dont remember them). here is what i remember. please do ur best, please.

the movie is a thriller/mystery





the plot though had something to do with a lake (maybe river)





a girl drowning in it(she had black hair, one eye missing, a white dress and heavy chains on her.)





She is a ghost that haunts the main character





in one scene, the lady(main character) wakes up in the night to feed her dog. something drips on her and she looks up. The ghost is floating in the tree, and the camera zooms into wrecked eye(a sharp accent is heard to frighten the audience)





in one scene water is running in the house. the main character walks into her bathroom and the girl is in the bathtub shivering.

The girl is Katie Holmes. She's married to Tom Cruise. She's most famous for her role in "Dawson's Creek".
