Should Ford bring back the EXP?

With the focus of the Auto Show being alternative fuel and small engine vehicles, do you thin that Ford should revive the EXP and cater to their younger audiences, such as recent college graduates?

Should Ford bring back the EXP?
YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK! LOL

EXP - "Erika Project Personal"

I miss the 80's too, but not enough to bring that thing back. It was about that time the Japanese were gaining traction in the marketplace, and they haven't looked back since!

Didn't it sit in the Escort frame?

I hope if they did, they would style it and boost the HP!

As I remember it had two model phases:

1982-1985

198'sh-1988'sh

Now, if they styled it more like a roadster, that would be interesting. And I don't mean a "mini Thunderbird"!

If you ask me, Ford should consider certain models they typically build overseas (build them here domestically, our dollar is not worth much these days).
Reply:The EXP never was a spectacular marketing brand. Most of the new kids weren't around for the original, and won't know what an "EXP" is. It wasn't that rememberable.
Reply:NO.

But the Galaxy ! That would make a fun retro car!
Reply:No, but they should bring back a sportier verson of the focus. There are constant rumors of them bringing the RS version over stateside to attract the Lancer and Evo crowd. Even adding a sportier appearance to the car based off the performance version would make it more desirable. The EXP looked like a Escort/Mustang and I'm not sure if it catered to young audiences any more than the Mustang or Escort GT. I do think Ford needs to offer something more than just the humdrum stuff they have out now to attract the younger crowd. I think a Fusion Coupe (2-dr version) would be awesome but will never come to light.
Reply:They already have the SVT line, which is intended to compete with the ricers like the WRX, Civic Si, etc.

With the SVT line already in place, I am not sure what the point of bringing back the EXP would be.

In addition, I don't think Ford is in good enough financial state now to be testing the waters.
