Nickelodeon is considering a special?

Nickelodeon is considering a special for its young audience about sex and love following the news that 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant.

The television network has made no announcement about the future of "Zoey 101," its popular program aimed primarily at youngsters aged 9-14. Filming for the show's fourth and final season has finished, and episodes are scheduled to begin airing in February.

For the special, Nickelodeon said it's talking with Linda Ellerbee, the veteran newswoman who has stepped in frequently in the past with shows on talking to children about difficult issues in the news. She's done shows about same-sex parents, AIDS, the Columbine shooting and President Clinton's impeachment scandal.

"I think it's important that something be done," Ellerbee told The Associated Press on Thursday. "But I think it's important that it be done in a measured way, and not just to feed the beast of news stories.

What do you think about this?

Nickelodeon is considering a special?
I think it is horrible that she is pregnant at 16. What is she going to do about College (SP)? BUT I do think making a Linda Ellerbee show about it could help.

It is very irresposible what she did. Hopefully no one follows her example.
Reply:I dont think they should do the special at all. Shes getting enough attention on tv as it is.I dont know why the media is acting as though shes the first girl in the history of mankind to get pregnant at sixteen.

So many young girls are getting pregnant everyday and they should be the ones on the tv special not her. It should depict girls who have to give up their babys for adoption, girls who have to drop out of school or get two jobs to be able to take care of a baby, or maybe even girls who have had an abortion.

When Spears has her baby everything will be taken care of for her and thats not what ideally happens when a teen girl gets pregnant and it would be irresponsible on nickelodeons part to show that to impressionable young girls and boys.
