Do you think Dan Radcliffe's nude stage performance is going to affect his career or the Harry Potter movies

From Feb - June, Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) is performing in the play "Equus" in a London theater. The play actually comes with warnings of emotional %26amp; psycological drama containing depictions of violence and senes of nudity - thus not suitable for young audiences. Dan has received favorable reviews in the press. When interviewed regarding the full nudity, the 17yr old basically stated that it wasn't a big deal.

i don't think it will hurt him at all on the contrary i think it may help him. when you play a part like harry with numerous sequels you get labeled as that part for your life. by doing this he is getting an opportunity to show a different side to his acting. look at the guy who played Luke Skywalker in the original 3 star wars movies. I never saw him in anything else and can't even remember his real name. I say good for Daniel, just finish the harry potter films because I love them
Reply:it's not going to affect it, he can do whatever he wants to do he's a man, he's almost 18 yrs old
Reply:He's an actor, I'd like to think he can do more than play the same thing over and over. Theater reviews are tougher than movie reviews. Julia Roberts is a great example of what works in one (movies) might not work in the other(stage). I'm sure he still knows he's fortunate to be a part of that franchise and it's always going to be a part of his resume. Rowling's books have been getting darker so by the time the series is over we'll have seen a pretty wide range of what he's capable of. Emma seems to be another one who's getting ready to grow up.

Reply:well as an actor it helps to show him as more mature but i dont think it will really affect him in harry potter because hes already signed on for all the movies and even though hes doing the play everyone cant wait for the 5th movie to come out so.........................................
Reply:it can only help his career he is showing he is no longer a kid and doesnt want to be typecast as only able to harry potter type stuff,The kind of people who go to see Equus are adults and enjoy theatre performed on a stage,Harry Potter movies like the books were written for children, teenagers and fans of the previous books
Reply:yes equus has nudity n violence. but it's not a porno play...dan's decision to act in equus is a v brave one n it paid off. who cares if dan wanna act nude?it's up 2 him. he's a man now not some kid. if he plays harry doesn't make him a kid. it's just a char.
Reply:I have seen the play and if he can get into a new role as well as he does in the play then he is destined to have a career that goes way beyond Harry Potter.


I think he is loyal to his role as Harry but once they have finished putting the books into movies he is going to be moving onto much more varied roles.


I think the fact that he has done this play helps people see that 'Harry Potter' is growing up, and he isn't just the boy wizard anymore...
